This refurbishment and extension upgraded a solid-wall 1950s property into the East of England’s first single-dwelling Passivhaus retrofit.

Our works focused on delivering high levels of airtightness through careful sequencing, upgraded low-energy building services, reduced thermal bridging, and a significantly enhanced external envelope using high-performance insulation. The completed home achieves excellent energy performance and long-term occupant comfort.

At ground level, stepped brick corbels and areas of wild flower sedum roofing provide a durable, well-detailed interface with the surrounding garden. Internally, the use of shadow gaps, brick detailing and bespoke Douglas Fir joinery continues throughout, maximising usable floor area while maintaining a consistent and high-quality finish.

Let's work together to create something extraordinary.

Take the first step towards your dream home.
